He had the look, and he seemed to be much more intense/brooding as a person than his music would suggest, at least in the early 70s. I know he spent time in a psychiatric ward when he was young.

Take the meds Iass, you want to link the posts you think are mine so we can all laugh together at your lack of pattern recognition?
>meltdowns
Have never happened to begin with, you call everything and anything a "meltdown" with no rhyme or reason to it. Just posting frequently = meltdown to you in the same way writing long posts = angry to you. Even right now you believe you are winning by even having me reply at all, yet anyone reading it can tell its merely your ego's self defense mechanism to being rolled over.

Ihsahn about the existence of Black Metal before the initial release by Darkthrone(direct quotation):

>I think people often forget that we, at 16, we had an opportunity we were into music that was... of course black metal was not a thing you know, in 1991. it was just a few, a little group of people in, you know, who gathered around Euronymous's shop in oslo

Don’t forget the genius that is “Welcome to NEW YORK!!! Omg!!!! Such a classic song!! Luv it. I sometimes cry to the lyrics while taking the bus because it hits me so hard. “I can move to this beaaaaaaat. This beaaaaaaaaaat”. I relate because I too like dancing!

Also, I'm gonna take said bait and just say the "no good live performances" thing is the objectively bullshit point argued here. Her stage show itself is showy as fuck, quite elaborate. Like, seen anything from the Reputation tour movie?

>Country is the de facto "American" genre
>Not bluegrass, primitivism or freak folk
>>
honest expression corrupted by the insatiable lust for money? sounds right
>>
>>121613376
Country is also deliberately tied to materialism just like hip-hop and to a lesser extent rock 'n' roll.
The genres I listed pride themselves on fostering community and trying to at least attempt to be distinctly American.
>>
primitivism sounds like american history to me

>Fixxer and King Nothing are bangers for sure. Also Frantic is my Fuck You I Like It song for them.

>>121609123
As an Old Fuck, I laugh at these zoomers whining about The Black Album being "Pop". Show me ONE song from the '93 pop charts that slaps as hard as Sad But True.
>Shits who weren't even a sperm in the 90s will say, "Yeah but it paved the way for..."
For what, musicians to try different shit? Fuck you, musicians should try different shit. If I want to hear AJFA over and over, I'd play AJFA for the 400th time. Most modern metal bands just follow a checklist "goth fashion, check, same recycled riffs, check, occult bookstore edgelord and/or video game DnD nerd lyrics, check..." it's SO FUCKING BORING.

Kids don't understand, metal's mainstream phase was one of those "I'm not trapped in here with you, you're trapped in here with me!" things.

Writing songs about being cucked goes back ages. You've probably heard of cotton-eyed joe for example but have you ever paid attention to the lyrics?

i don't hate classical music but i'm always put off by the fact that you have to search a specific recording you like instead of having a 'definitive' album like in rock or pop. is this retarded?
>>
>>121614028
Yes it is retarded. You just need to find a performer you like and then you will tend to like all their renditions.
And it sort of goes the other way, too. If I like bach, then I'm bound to like any recording of bachs music. That's because typically a very high level of skill is needed to get a record deal, and the music is so well composed that it's hard to go wrong
Also, you are missing the upside. There is no definitive rendition which means that different players can interpret the music differently. They can play it wildly differently and it's fun to explore the differences
>>
>>121614028
Yes, you are retarded.
>>
>>121614463
so what are your favorite bach recordings?

Except for it is? idk anon this take seems like it's coming from someone who hasn't actually sat down and A|B tested well produced music through high-end equipment. It's a small difference, sure, and I agree that most people won't hear any difference but the reality is that there is a difference between 320kbps MP3 to WAV.
